Delete your Guardian Pin account

If you no longer wish to use Guardian Pin, you can delete your account right in the app, or here on this page. Just removing the app from your phone won’t delete your account.

Delete in the app

1. Open Guardian Pin and unlock it.
2. Open Settings.
3. Choose Delete account.
4. Read the warning. Deleting the account cannot be undone.
5. Enter your PIN to confirm this is you.
6. Type DELETE in capital letters. Your PIN is checked on this phone and is not sent.
7. Choose Delete account.

Delete without the app

If you cannot open the app, use the no-login deletion form. It does not ask you to sign in.

You can also email privacy@guardianpin.app from the Apple or Google address on the account. That address may be Apple's private relay email. Include the name on the account so the request can be matched to you.

What is deleted

• Your account
• Sign-in links
• The device record
• Saved circle contacts and circles
• Medical ID
• Alerts
• Location shared during alerts, including live location samples
• Uploaded recordings

Your unlock PIN is erased from that phone when in-app deletion finishes. The PIN is checked on the phone and is not uploaded. This does not change contacts in your phone's address book. Alert emails already delivered to your contacts are not deleted. Those copies stay with their email providers.

What is kept, and for how long

While the account exists, location data (including live location samples) and recordings (audio and video clips) are purged after 30 days, and alerts are purged after 90 days.

After the account is deleted, these records remain:

• An anonymised delivery log, for 90 days.
• A deletion receipt, for 7 days.
• The email confirmation from the web deletion form, for 7 days.
• A store purchase record is kept after deletion with the user id removed. It remains linkable by the Apple transaction ID or the Google purchase token, so it is pseudonymous, not anonymous. That record is kept for six years from the end of the tax year the purchase relates to, as required by Canadian tax law, after which it is deleted.
• Our email provider, Resend, keeps a copy of each email for up to 30 days. Alert emails delivered to your contacts stay with their email providers and are not deleted by Guardian Pin.

Apple keeps App Store purchase records under Apple's own rules. Google keeps Play purchase records under Google's own rules.

Your subscription is not cancelled

Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Guardian Pin cannot cancel it for you. Apple and Google keep their own purchase records under their own rules.

On the App Store, open the App Store, tap your account, then Subscriptions, and cancel Guardian Pin. You can also open https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

On Google Play, open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and cancel Guardian Pin. You can also open https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
